Welcome to Stover Senior School

Happy children learn well.

We know that to be true, and we have seen how ensuring that young people who are happy and safe flourish and develop into young people who are ready for the next chapter of their lives.

A Stover education celebrates individuality, encouraging every young person to be happy and confident in their own strengths and achievements. We believe in the whole child, so our education provides excellent academic tuition alongside a broad variety of enrichment activities built into the daily curriculum.

Co-educational and non-selective, we welcome applications from anyone who would thrive in our happy and accepting school based on Christian family principles. Our 64 acres of parkland provides a safe, caring environment where children are both challenged and nurtured as they grow into exceptional young adults ready to take on the world.

We show our children how to learn differently. Our unique philosophy allows pupils to discover knowledge for themselves.

Research Based Learning is a hands-on approach that results in more dynamic lessons that are both practical and engaging.

As a result, pupils find they develop essential life skills alongside their academic studies – setting them up for future success.

Stover pupils are kind, thoughtful and respectful with a creative mindset that enables them to solve problems, think critically and be fully prepared for what lies ahead.

A great education is about more than exams. Students are challenged to explore a new activity every day of the week.

Whether it’s discovering fresh interests, or developing existing passions, Stover pupils are taught to value enrichment as an essential part of learning.

We give our young people the time to pursue a love of horse riding or music, discover a talent for clay shooting or skiing, or simply pass a happy hour playing chess, taking a yoga class or creating art.

Every term sees a fresh menu of enrichment activities which are built into the academic curriculum of each day.

Making mistakes is how young people grow, and learn.

Stover pupils are given the space to learn how to make good choices within a framework of structure and discipline but without quick judgement or punitive punishment.

Students and staff have a strong bond of mutual respect where behavioural expectations go both ways. Our pupils are supported with kindness, understanding and guidance to make their own way in the world.

We would love the opportunity to show you Stover on a normal school day so you can experience all of these things for yourself.

Our hope is that you can then see your child becoming part of the Stover School story.
