Across Stover School we celebrated our love of books and reading on World Book Day 2024. Pupils and staff entered into the spirit by dressing up as a wide variety of book characters – from The Iron Man to a tree house. A costume parade was held in the Prep School Courtyard and they were joined at break time by senior pupils in costume.

A competition to guess the member of staff from a baby photo and their favourite book was held in both Prep and Senior. There were some interesting guesses! At lunch time there was a book themed lunch including Fantastic Mr Fox Chicken Wraps, Wish Soup and Harry Potter Golden Snitch satsumas. Prep School held a “Story in a Box” competition which some amazing entries. There was also an Usborne Fair.

There was a Quotation Treasure Hunt in the Senior School with pupils having to find the matching half of a book quote. As it was actually not raining we managed to hold it outside! It was great seeing so many pupils hunting for quotes. In Nursery the children took part in a Book Scavenger Hunt, looking for 6 spring pictures in books. In the afternoon there was a Story Hunt outside. Each page of a story was put inside an envelope with the page number on. The children had to find each page in the correct order to read the story.

There was a lovely buzz around the whole school.
