Stover Sixth Form is a place of learning and development. It is fun, dynamic, diverse and ambitious; Further education designed for individuals.
Make the last two years of formal education memorable at Stover. Pupils gain excellent qualifications but still maintain a healthy variety of enrichment activities, and discover a social scene that guarantees great fun. Our close-knit Sixth Form holds a privileged position within our school: integrated through peer mentorship and the House system, yet independent in a purpose-built study and social centre.
Stover Sixth Formers are ambitious, interesting and talented individuals who make the most of their unique opportunity to pursue a future of their own design.
The 2024 statistics for the GCSE and A level results in Stover School yet again underline what an excellent education Stover pupils receive, with results across the board well above the national average despite our non-selective intake.
Hot on the heels of the latest government statistics showing that Stover Sixth Form is one of the best three in Devon for Value Added, the quality of the support and guidance provided by our UCAS applications team was underlined by a figure of 95% of applicants being accepted into their first choice of university.
“I know many parents wish for their child to develop independence during their education. Stover is a very good place for that in the sense that we aren't spoon-fed skills or knowledge. We are taught to investigate with the help of the teachers and when help is needed the teachers are always there to guide our thinking.”
Stover School has been such a wonderful place for our son and indeed our whole family. We are filled with gratitude for eight years of education, community and integrity. As it says on the side of the buses, Nurture, Inspire and Prepare. These are all so true!
You can also expect a truly international experience with pupils from overseas also joining in year 12 for A levels and BTEC courses.
This year we have eleven nationalities in the school each bringing their own unique characteristics.
Alongside the A level or BTEC courses on offer you can also undertake an EPQ project, equivalent of an AS level and a qualification many universities look for through the application process.
Sixth formers enjoy being part of the whole school and are a central part of house competitions, music and sports day, alongside opportunities to work with the younger children in the school providing help and encouragement to them.
Alongside all the hard work Stover Sixth Form is a fun place to be too! Sixth formers enjoy ‘Stoverfest’ in the Summer, our own little mini festival, and also a ‘Snow Ball’ in the Christmas season to name a couple of events.
