Chess Club

Fully established as a firm favourite, Chess Club runs throughout the school and all come together to try to outwit, strategise and execute unbeatable moves against each other. If you are interested in chess or want to learn how to play the game, please come along one lunchtime to see what it’s like; you may even learn a thing or two!

Computer Science

An opportunity for students to learn and improve their programming skills in Scratch, Kodu and Python, assisted by the Head of Computer Science.

Chemistry Club

Chemistry club gives pupils the opportunity to revisit experiments they have enjoyed before (flame tests and vitamin C rockets are favourites) or try new reactions, processes and techniques. We carry out a variety of experiments from solving crimes theoretically to making aspirin and growing crystals. It is often ably assisted by some of our 6th Form pupils who really enjoy the opportunity to share the experiments they have enjoyed and see the enthusiasm on the faces of the group.

Dissection club grew from conversations with a group of very keen pupils who have an interest in hands-on learning and a desire to find out more about how structure is related to function in Biology. From fruit to eyeballs; from hearts to squid, pupils explore a range of specimens! Pupils learn the skills needed to carefully dissect and to treat the specimen with respect and discuss their findings.
