Stover Sixth Form: Supporting Futures with Personalised Guidance
For Bella, a former Sixth Form pupil, the journey from school to university began with the individual support she received at Stover School. After completing her A-levels, she went on to study Psychology at Aberystwyth University and is now pursuing a Master’s in Forensic Investigation at the University of Exeter.
Reflecting on her time at Stover, Bella highlighted how the small class sizes made a real difference. “I always felt known by my teachers, and that meant I could ask for advice and get the help I needed,” she explained. The personalised attention provided by staff not only supported her academic studies but also guided her through the competitive university application process.
Bella especially valued the one-to-one support with her personal statement, noting that tutors had a clear understanding of her strengths and the degree courses that would suit her best. This tailored advice gave her the confidence to take her next steps into higher education and beyond.

Caring Music Scholar

I was Head Girl at Stover 2005-2006 and was a music scholar in voice, violin, piano and flute. I left in 2006 to study at The Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama and gained a First class honours BMUS HONS in Vocal and Opera Studies. I have settled in Cardiff and have built a Singing Teaching and freelance opera singing career across South Wales. I am also a freelance care home project manager for a charity called Forget-me-not Chorus (a charity that provides singing sessions for those living with and alongside dementia). I project manage all our care home work.

Stover Adventurer

I took a gap year after leaving Stover to work and hike Everest Base Camp (inspired by the school trip to Annapurna base camp), before going to Cardiff University to study Medicine. Afterwards, I wanted to be closer to the mountains so moved to North Wales for foundation training. It was a gorgeous place to live and I spent three years there before wanting to try a bigger adventure (and escape covid after working on the covid wards for a year), so moved to New Zealand two years ago. I’ve ironically ended up in New Plymouth, which is a gorgeous seaside town with a very iconic mountain. I’d started a distance learning masters degree in Healthcare Ethics and Law before leaving the UK, but managed to complete it from NZ. So now, I’m training to be psychiatrist whilst spending my weekends hiking, skiing and surfing (although I’m struggling to graduate from the white water). I haven’t yet decided if I’m returning to the UK, everytime I consider it, I discover more adventures to have out here.

Academic Success

As the year is fast coming to an end, I am elated to share with you good news about both my daughters that attended Stover for their A Levels, as you know I was also a past pupil from the years 1985-1987. I am attesting to the fact that indeed Stover played a good foundation for their various successes in the Universities they attended.

My second and youngest daughter -OLUWATIMILEHIN otherwise known as Timi in Stover, graduated this year (July 2022) from the University of Kent Canterbury with a First-Class Honours degree in Business and Management.

Her older sister -ABISOLA too graduated from Swansea University in Wales with a First-Class Honours Degree in Law & Politics and a Distinction in master’s degree in development & human rights. She was offered a Scholarship for her Masters Degree at Swansea University after her brilliant Undergraduate result. She has currently just completed a Fellowship Program – Legal Mentoring Initiative (Program in Govt Politics) at the House of Assembly in Nigeria.

Whilst Timi is currently working in the UK as a Consultant in a FinTech Company, Abisola is hoping to do a Ph.D in the UK soon.
