Be Inspired – Be Nurtured – Be Prepared

Choosing the right school for your child is one of the most important decisions a parent can make. At Stover, set in 64 acres of beautiful Devon countryside, we believe we offer something truly special: a blend of strong academic teaching and a rich programme of activities that helps children explore, grow, and thrive.

Learning for Life

Our vision is simple: To nurture, inspire and prepare pupils for a life full of curiosity, confidence and purpose.
Pupils consistently achieve excellent results at GCSE and Sixth Form, with many going on to top universities, colleges, and exciting careers. But we believe that school is more than exams – it’s a place to be yourself, try new things, and uncover what makes you unique.

Support for Every Pupil

Whether a day pupil, full boarder, or flexi-boarder, every child is supported by our dedicated pastoral and academic teams. Strong relationships with staff ensure every pupil is known, encouraged, and guided – both in and out of the classroom.

Learning by Doing

Inspired by Kurt Hahn, who believed “There is more in us than we know”, we put experiential learning at the heart of everything. From Prep to Sixth Form, pupils learn by exploring, reflecting, and applying knowledge in real-life contexts. In the Preparatory School, the International Primary Curriculum builds academic skills alongside personal growth and global awareness – a philosophy carried through the Senior School.

Beyond the Classroom

Academics are only part of the story. Our activity programme sparks curiosity, develops talents, and gives pupils opportunities that last a lifetime. In Prep, clubs extend classroom learning. In the Senior School, pupils can choose from over 100 options each week – from STEM, sport and performing arts to new languages, outdoor adventures, and even daily dog walks!

A Place to Thrive

At Stover, teaching and care go hand in hand.
Pupils leave confident, curious, and ready for the next stage of life. As the Good Schools Guide says:
“Pupils are down to earth, outdoorsy, enthusiastic, up for giving everything a try and happy in their own skin. A charming bunch of adventurers, making the absolute best out of a wonderfully holistic and healthy education.”
At Stover, we really do believe you can have it all.
